About

Minna Shokudō Rush is a free Japanese practice game for beginners studying with Minna no Nihongo.

Why this game exists

After about ten lessons of Minna, many learners understand the grammar on paper but freeze when they hear a Japanese speaker. What's missing is reaction speed: hearing a sentence and knowing right away what to do.

The game puts you behind the counter of a small restaurant. Customers keep talking and time is limited, so you have to understand quickly instead of translating word by word. Every sentence uses only the vocabulary and grammar from the first 12 lessons, so you can play as far as you've studied.

This is an independent study site and is not affiliated with 3A Corporation, the publisher of Minna no Nihongo. Character names are used so learners recognize them.
